The game

A mystery under the Brazilian sun

Sunny Trails is a cozy turn-based RPG. The sun goddess Amaterasu, the storm god Susanoo, and the moon god Tsukuyomi travel to a paradise island in southern Brazil for a grand celebration of deities from around the world, and arrive to find every guest petrified.

To solve the mystery, you'll explore hand-drawn landscapes inspired by the island of Florianópolis, meet characters from Brazilian folklore, and face mythical creatures in battles that reward thinking over reflexes. Between battles, life is gentle: fish in crystal waters, cook meals that power up your team, and decorate your seaside camp.

Around 70% cozy, 30% RPG: welcoming if you're new to turn-based games, satisfying if you love them.

The island

Where Japanese mythology meets Brazilian folklore

The island of Sunny Trails is not a generic tropical backdrop. It's a love letter to Florianópolis and the Azorean culture of Santa Catarina, documented for decades by folklorist Franklin Cascaes: the witch tales of Itaguaçu, the benzedeiras, the rhythm of the fishing villages.

This fusion reflects something real: Brazil is home to the largest population of Japanese descent outside Japan. When Amaterasu shares a table with island witches, when Susanoo tries pirão for the first time, two cultures that already live side by side finally meet in a game.

The soundtrack follows the same idea: original bossa nova and baião compositions that you won't hear anywhere else in gaming.

Exploring the island's terraced cliffs and pathways from a top-down view. Two characters crossing a grassy plateau beside a flowering tree.

Handcrafted. No AI.

Every character, every animation frame, every illustration, and every song in Sunny Trails is the work of human artists. That's a promise on the box.
